Canela

Canela is a 3-month old female Labrador Retriever mix currently weighing about 15 lbs, but of course will grow larger. She is being fostered by SNIPSA in a home in San Antonio after she was rescued from San Antonio's Animal Care Facility by a veterinarian who fell in love with her. Canela is a very sweet and very smart puppy. She loves playing "fetch" and is 100% crate-trained. Canela LOVES other dogs and will do best in a home where there is at least one other dog who loves to play as much as she does! Canela would also do best in a home with older children, because of her energy and activity level. In her foster home, Canela lives with a 4-year old child. While she does ok, she can be intimidating for a small child because of her playfulness and activity level. Canela will benefit greatly from some obedience training and some structure. SNIPSA is currently treating Canela for demodectic mange, which is NON-contagious. This is the reason Canela is missing some hair around her face in her photo. After she has been completely cleared of this condition, she will then be ready to go to her new adoptive home; however, Canela can be visited now and an adoption application may be submitted on her.
