Adoption Pending 3/14/10 Update 2.24.10

Drew is a 5 month old Golden/Lab mix who currently weighs 37 pounds but will continue to grow. Drew was rescued from San Antonio Animal Care Services. When Drew was first rescued he was so shy and scared that his foster mom had to carry him everywhere. Once she got him in her house the first night he found a corner under a shelf and stayed there for two days (only moving to be carried outside to potty). Persistence and patience paid off and we finally found the treat that made Drew's tail wag and he began to trust. Within two days Drew was a happy dog again and followed his foster mom around like a shadow. Drew has gained tremendous confidence and enjoys playing in the front yard with all of the kids in the neighborhood. He still gets a little nervous from time to time but is making progress each day. Drew loves other dogs and is a wonderful gentleman. He is almost completely house trained as well. He will make a wonderful addition to any family. UPDATE: Drew has been in foster care for about 2 weeks now and one would never know he is the same dog that we picked up! Drew has blossomed into a very outgoing and sweet boy. He absolutely loves to play with the other dogs in his foster home and is quickly learning to play fetch. He is house trained now as well. Drew's confidence can be seen when he is running in the yard with all of the dogs! He is still somewhat nervous in approaching new people but in his own time comes over and discovers that you are ok with his tail wagging happily. He also LOVES to play with and eat ice cubes! Drew gets so happy when he hears the freezer door open and has his own spot where he will run with his very own ice cube, it is very cute! Drew will make an outstanding family pet. Drew is vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered.
