I am a male German Shepherd/Hound mix and will be a large dog when fully grown. My rescuers believe that I was born around February 2010. While I may not be the prettiest of all the hounds, I sure am sweet. I am one of four puppies found living in a ditch near a county road. I was in terrible shape covered in mange, riddled with parasites, and scavenging for my next meal. A Good Samaritan happened to see my frail little body when driving by and couldn't pass me by. She immediately turned her car around and loaded me and all three of my littermates up without a real plan. But isn't that the way the rescue world works, "help now and plan later?" Over the last month, we have been receiving the medical care we needed to get us back into shape. After several dips, our hair is starting to grow back in. We are starting to look like real dogs again. And let me tell you about all the weight we have gained, pounds and more pounds -- dieting is not in our vocabulary! We are social butterflies- very happy, confident, and easy-going pups. We LOVE young children and are very gentle in our interactions with them. We follow our foster mom around most everywhere because we know she saved our lives, hence our loyalty. We are finally ready to move on and find new and forever homes. Please consider giving us a chance - you will fall in love when you meet us in person. Truly a roadside-to-riches experience for us! My littermates and I have been neutered, fully vaccinated and microchipped.
