Nessie

Nessie is an 18 month old, 50 lb., Black Lab/Greyhound mix. She was picked up as a stray and rescued from Animal Care Services on her last day before euthanasia. She is being fostered in home in San Antonio. She looks like a lab and has the disposition of one, but she is fast like a Greyhound! She is a wonderful dog and full of love to give. In fact she thinks she is a lap dog. It is suspected that she was thrown from a car when she was younger and sustained a broken leg. It has completely healed and she does not miss a beat! Nessie lived on the streets about five months, but has quickly learned how to be a great house dog. She is 100% house trained and crate trained. She is very smart and eager to please. She knows sit, shake, and down and has almost mastered roll over. She is a typical young lab with a lot of energy. She would do best in a home with a large yard for her to run and play. She gets along well with other dogs, doesn't bother the cat in her foster home and loves children! She would do well in a home with another dog, but would also be fine as an only dog and enable her to receive all the attention. She much prefers human attention over canine attention. Nessie is sometimes a little shy in the beginning, but warms up quickly. Her ideal home would be one where her family is home a lot. She needs a little extra reassurance after what all she has been through. She will be a great addition to some lucky family!
