Opie is a handsome three month old male neutered shepherd mix that was orginally abandoned at Animal Care Services in a cardboard box covered in mange. Being that sarcoptic mange is contagious, Opie couldn't be placed in the kennels with other dogs so SNIPSA was summoned to his rescue. With appropriate medication and a series of baths, Opie recovered beautifully. He is now sporting a soft fawn colored coat and looks like a healthy pup again. Opie has an incredible personality and loves to follow the kids around the house. He is a real family dog and lays with the children while they do their homework, play games, or even hold perfomances in the playroom. Somehow the kids incorporate him into their shows and dress him in all sorts of wild costumes.

Needless to say, he tolerates it well. Opie doesn't know a stranger and loves both cats and other dogs. He can often be found lying in the laundry basket or a carseat- just makes himself comfortable where he finds a cozy spot. We can't say enough wonderful things about this guy. He is a well socialized and confident dog just waiting for his forever home.
