Patches
Patches is about 3 years old and is an Auvergne Pointer mix. He weighs about 50 lbs now. He was found emaciated and begging for food from people in a parking lot on a military base. He was all bones and could barely walk. It took a while, but he has put on weight and is a very muscular dog. When he was found, he was afraid of everything. He is now much more self confident and trusting of people. He has come a long way, but is still a little apprehensive when he first meets someone. But, once he warms up, he REALLY warms up!!! Patches likes to think of himself as a lap dog. He can also be quite a vain boy! He is very fond of the way he looks. He runs into the house and into the bathroom to look at himself in the mirror. He does this over and over. His tail just wags when he sees himself! He thinks he is quite handsome, and we agree!
Patches does well with most dogs-- females and non-dominant males. He is also great with cats. He is a very loving and sweet dog. He is completely house trained and crate trained. He is still working on the leash training. He likes to run instead of walk and needs a strong person to hold onto him. He is an indoor dog and loves to spend his time playing. He would be best in home with a female dog to run and play with. Wrestling and rolling around the house with another dog is his favorite thing in the world. He loves attention, his foster family, his bones, and playing tug of war! Patches seems to have an early bed time and will normally curl up on the dog bed and put himself to sleep by 8 or 9pm. Patches is neutered, current on all vaccinations and microchipped. If you are interested in adopting Patches, please complete an Application .
