Zero is a male 3 year old, Manchester Terrier, weighing 5 pounds. Zero has a life story that most humans have never even thought about. Just about 2 years ago (2010), Zero was found in a cardboard box in the office of a secretary at St. Mary's University. He was placed in SNIPSA and was soon on his way to Midland TX, being adopted by an older woman needing a sweet, quiet companion. Somewhere around the last part of 2011, Zero's owner suffered a stroke and was no longer able to live at home, so Zero was place in a temporary home. He missed his owner and chewed through a fence to go look for her. In mid January, SNIPSA was notified that one of their dogs (they knew because of the chip in Zero) was in the Animal Control Center in Albuquerque NM. The director of SNIPSA notified the foster that had Zero originally and flurry of events came about to get Zero home. Two wonderful voluteers in Abluquerque were instrumental in getting Zero back. One went to the facility and brought Zero to her home for the night. The second voluteer drove him to Carlsbad, where his original fosters picked him up after driving from San Antonio.

Zero is now safe and doing very well in foster care in San Antonio. He is very thin, but will soon be filled out from all the food he is piling in now. He is still quiet, loving, and sociable. He spends his night in a kennel and is very happy and content. During the day, he plays with the other dogs, interacts well with people, and has no desire to chase quirrels, but will sit on the sidewalk in the sun and watch them. He is too small to small to be in a household with small children, but would love to sit on the lap of anyone over the age of 8. He is totally nonagressive and will follow you anywhere. He is housebroken. If ever there is a story of a miracle dog, Zero has one.
