Non-Profit Veterinary Technician and Volunteer Coordinator


SNIPSA is a grassroots animal welfare organization committed to re-homing adoptable animals from area shelters and providing spay/neuter outreach to underserved areas of San Antonio. This position will be responsible for the following:

  • Recruiting, organizing, and providing leadership to volunteers at office and events
  • Assisting with medical care and husbandry of animals to include bathing, feeding, walking, vaccinating, venipuncture, placing catheters, performing and interpreting fecals, skin scrapings, preparing prescriptions, and general care of animals. Must be comfortable restraining dogs/cats and understand animal behavior.
  • Assist with clerical duties such as microchip entry, scheduling surgeries, and general administrative support to Executive Director
  • Assist with cleaning and organizing of office in order to keep tidy and professional appearance
  • Assisting other team members with intake process and adoption procedures to include medical files and contracts
  • Answering phone and providing information regarding resources in community
  • Greet, assist, and provide quality customer service to clients
  • Participate in adoption and fundraising events
  • Strong computer skills to include knowledge of basic software such Excel, Google docs, Dropbox, social media platforms, donor and shelter software
  • Being willing to troubleshoot issues that arise as the non-profit world is dynamic
  • Must be flexible, self-motivated, committed to improving the lives of companion animals, and willing to work towards San Antonio’s larger goal of making our community a No-Kill city
  • Willing to work outside of 9-5 hours and some weekends
  • Communication with Executive Director is essential
  • Willing to smile and have an upbeat attitude in spite of situations often outside of our control
